As a Senior / Principal / Senior Principal Hydrogen Consultant you will be close to innovative industries, forward looking companies and creative people that are looking for ways to lower our carbon footprint with the use of low-carbon hydrogen.

 

DNV has a broad suite of services that offer ways to streamline and de-risk the development and implementation of new technologies and processes to support the complete hydrogen value chain. From production of both green and blue hydrogen, transportation, and storage, to its uses in various applications.

 

This position could be based out any of our DNV offices in London, Loughborough, Aberdeen, Manchester or remote-based at any location in the UK.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Be the driver of high-quality delivery of hydrogen projects in UK & Ireland
  • Align with the Regional segment lead for Hydrogen and CCS in Region UK & Ireland to develop and foster the engagement of relevant clients in the region
  • Support lead generation, bidding, and project execution in operations
  • Facilitate domain knowledge building and innovation within the organisation
  • Sell from domain experience
  • Support bid and project competence
     

What You’ll Sell

 

  • Our existing knowledge of fossil fuel applications and how these assets/businesses can be converted to low-carbon hydrogen
    • Help clients identify what they need to do to convert to hydrogen
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the differences between fossil fuels and hydrogen and how to comply with regulations/standards etc
    • How our solutions deliver Net Zero to our clients
    • How our soluti
    • ons are commercially, as well as technically, investable.
  • The range of hydrogen options available to clients:
    • Different types of hydrogen (green, blue, gas, liquid etc) and hydrogen carriers such as ammonia, liquid organic hydrogen carriers.
    • Strategies for different sectors – transport, marine, heat, industry.
    • An independent assessment of the optimum solution.
  • Whole systems solutions linking DNV expertise across the board - onshore/offshore/marine/subsea
    • Cross energy vector solutions such as power to gas
    • Identification of constraints that need to be overcome such as energy storage, power, CCS and water supply infrastructure
    • Innovative ideas from low to high TRLs depending on the clients’ requirements
    • Advise across industry from investors, financial institutions to industrials

Position Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree with undergraduate in mechanical, or chemical, or electric engineering or one of the physical sciences
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the energy industry understanding market drivers and technical challenges in the hydrogen market area.
  • Strong domain knowledge in any one or more of the following areas:
    • Hydrogen value chain
    • Green & blue hydrogen production
    • Conversion/repurposing of offshore and onshore assets from natural gas to hydrogen
    • Economic/business skills to support increase in growth of financial transactions involving
    • hydrogen and carbon capture
    • Conversion of end-users from fossil fuels to hydrogen including transport applications
    • Electrolysers and Electrolysis
    • Fuel cells
    • Gas processing
    • Hydrogen transportation and blending
    • Hydrogen uses in industrial sector
    • Hydrogen safety
  • Hold strong self-development, empowerment, and engagement
  • Creates trust through reliable delivery and strong and stable relationships with customers
