Did you know that 90% of the world’s transportation is done by ships? International shipping produces around one billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions every year, accounting for 3% of annual global emissions. The FN agency IMO (International Maritime Organization) has set the target of cutting CO2 emissions from international shipping by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008 levels, with carbon intensity reduced 40% by 2030. The Maritime industry needs help to meet regulation regime to stay compliant and continue their business. One important contribution to solve this problem is to make more automatic, digitalized solutions.
Based on our strong position and the trust DNV has within the maritime industry and regulatory authorities, our ambition is to take a leading position to accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions from the worlds fleet. We strongly believe that our innovation and digitalization initiatives will be important measures in reaching these necessary goals the coming years.
Driven by above ambitions we have decided to establish a team of Software Developers located in Gdynia, Poland being a part of Digital Class Services unit and working directly with our international development teams.
We’re seeking team-oriented, enthusiastic Software Developers to play a vital part in this new setup, joining our team as (Senior/Junior) Full-Stack Developers. You will be part of newly created team working with maritime development network of professional software developers.
As a full stack developer, you will:
Our technology platform is a web-centric set of microservices, leveraging the latest Microsoft technology stack as well as Open-source solutions, both on premise and cloud. This platform focuses on the smart use of data and machine learning algorithms and integrates with DNV’s Veracity platform. We operate close to 200 applications, used by thousands of people internally and externally, 24/7.

• You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or have a proven record as a solid software engineer on the Microsoft technology stack
• Experience with relevant languages, technologies, and tools, such as Microsoft .NET Framework, C#, WebAPI, etc.
• Result-oriented, curious attitude and eagerness to understand customer needs
• Fast learner of new technologies and trends
• Fluent command of English in writing and in speech
