Local Unit & Position Description

DNV Energy System’s Energy Management Business Area is seeking an Outreach Professional to join our midstream program delivery team. This role will support commercial and industrial utility customers and their contractors by directly engaging distributors and manufacturers to participate in utility incentive programs Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for reaching out to the energy efficient equipment distribution market, convincing them to participate, and will support this effort through technology training and process support. This individual will work directly with equipment distributors and be accountable for increasing the throughput of eligible energy efficient products.


This position is based in our Des Moines, Iowa office.


What you’ll do

  • Build relationships with energy efficient equipment distributors (primarily non-lighting), manufacturers and channel partners to achieve program goals
  • Provide resources, education, and day-to-day support to distributors, Trade Allies, and contractors
  • Develop and execute outreach plans and activities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to monitor results and develop recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Plan and deliver presentations at meetings and training events for distributors, Trade Allies and other marketing channel partners, customers, clients
  • Maintain excellent client relations, customer and partner satisfaction scores

Position Qualifications

What is Required

  • Experience with energy efficient products and/or utility funded incentives. Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred
  • 2 years outside commercial sales experience, manufacturer-direct preferred
  • Ability to Identify customers’ needs within a sales context - Competent and compliant with sales data tracking systems preferred
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities - ability to work independently and use sound judgment under fast-paced, high stress scenarios
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Team player with positive attitude and ability to work effectively with different cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of translating technical messages for diverse audiences
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time locally
  • Possesses a solid technical and market understanding of the technology segments included in the program
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Must be able to meet the requirements to drive for company business and possess a valid drivers’ license
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
