Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer/Senior Engineer

• Delivering scopes of work in accordance with agreed budget and timeframe, meeting client KPI’s where applicable.
• Acting as a discipline lead or be working towards this role.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Preparing tenders and proposals.
• Reviewing of Electrical Control and Instrumentation documents such as Philosophies, Specifications, Calculations, Studies, P&IDs, single line diagrams, block diagrams, Functional Safety documentation, Equipment Data Sheets and Certificates.
• Maintaining high performance without compromising on quality, when under pressure.
• Identifying of issues or obstacles and proposing and implementing solutions.
• Communicating with both specialist and non-specialist stakeholders.
• Safety focused attitude with an awareness of the implications and consequences of our analysis and work to the safety of offshore operations and personnel.

Essential:

• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline.
• Between 5- and 10-years’ experience as an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer within the Energy Sector.
• Established working experience in Control Systems, integration and Functional Safety.
• Willingness to learn new skills as DNV adapts to meet the needs of a changing world.

Desirable:

• Chartership with a relevant Engineering Institution.
• Working experience in Functional Safety and Cyber Security.
• IECEx Certification – Personnel Competence.
• Offshore experience with BOSIET Qualification.
• Understanding of applicable offshore legislation for the UKCS. Knowledge & understanding of applicable codes and standards used within the Oil and Gas industry.
• Understanding of the challenges posed by the Energy Transition.

We are seeking for a talented and motivated Engineer/Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our Energy Systems CAPEX team.

You will work within a motivated, supportive team of engineers, project managers and support staff with various experience levels within the CAPEX Section and wider Offshore Infrastructure Department, on a wide range of exciting projects and initiatives, to ensure existing energy project is safe, and to prepare ourselves and clients for secure energy supply as we move through the energy transition.

Some typical projects are

• Complex greenfield and brownfield development projects for third party verification including design review and field inspection and commissioning.
• Technical qualifications of emerging technologies and designs for energy transition.
• Advisory support to internal and external clients on wide range of traditional and renewable energy projects.

Our clients range from owners, operators, EPC contractors, design house, yards and manufactures, and emerging energy transition companies etc.  

We are looking for a Engineer/Senior Engineer in the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer discipline, particularly in the areas of electrical generation equipment, UPS and batteries along with experience in control systems and integration, knowledge of functional safety and cyber security expertise would be beneficial.

As an Engineer/Senior Engineer, you will be expected to have a good understanding of electrical and control systems and be ready and able to apply your knowledge expertise, to assure the highest quality of service delivery to meet customer requirements within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established.

In this role you will also support on bidding and assist with the development of a growing team of engineers. The role will be office based (hybrid model) with field trips as needed by the projects.
