Local Unit & Position Description

The Global Centre Finance will deliver high quality services to European countries related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Record to Report processes. Services will be rendered in close collaboration with the GSS Finance Regional Centres, together developing the Global Shared Service Finance function for DNV. 

 

We are seeking a Head of Section - Accounts Payable for the Global Centre Finance. The Head of Section will be responsible for delivering high quality purchase to pay processes that enable the organisation to control and improve its accounts payable and employees’ expenses reimbursement processes.

 

The Head of Section - Accounts Payable will report to the Global Centre Manager GSS Finance and be part of the Global Centre GSS Finance management team. 

 

You will be engaged with project work, further planning and maturing the future concept and service delivery model, including resource analysis and planning.

 

To succeed in this role you will provide leadership, direction and prioritization to your team and create an atmosphere of motivation and enthusiasm. You will play a key role in service implementation, development and continuous improvement of the accounts payable deliveries.

 

Key tasks: 

  • In the first phase your focus will be on further analysis, planning and building department’s strategy
  • You will build and manage a team of accountants processing full cycle of accounts payable transactions
  • Oversee and steer day to day operation and delegate responsibilities across your team
  • Build, coach and develop your team
  • Ensure that requests are handled with professionalism and positive service attitude while ensuring that delivery is according to defined SLA
  • Manage and revise work flow duties and direct inbound inquiries as needed
  • Establish and maintain close and professional partnerships with internal stakeholders
  • Streamline internal processes to ensure the most efficient operational standards
  • Review and manage exception reports, KPIs, and other key indicators of performance/output 

Position Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5+ years’ experience of accounts payable processing in a high volume environment
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Oracle preferred
  • Knowledge of one or more applications (Basware Cloud, AppZEN or OneStream) will be an advantage
  • Previous experience with a Professional Services Company preferred
  • Excellent English skills required, written and verbal. Additional European language skills will be advantageous
