DNV, the independent expert in assurance and risk management, is seeking an Energy Consultant (Strategy and Transactions) within our UK and Ireland Markets and Risk Department. Reporting to either our Manchester or London office, the position offers the possibility of working from home three days per week.
In this varied, challenging and fast-paced role, you will have the chance to develop your career in a technical and business consulting environment. You’ll be responsible for advising financial institutions and energy/utility companies on a wide range of due diligence projects across buy side, sell side, and project finance deals.
Our work
DNV provides assurance to the entire energy value chain through our advisory, monitoring, verification, and certification services. As the world's leading resource of independent energy experts and technical advisors, we help industries and governments to navigate the complex interrelated transitions taking place in the energy industry.
Our rapidly growing UK and Ireland Markets and Risk Department combines multidisciplinary experts from oil and gas, power, and renewable energy backgrounds. Colleagues support client companies and assets throughout their energy transition journey.
As our Energy Consultant, you will work within the Transactions and Business Advisory team, which is one of three core sections within the department. The team operates in many industry sectors, but with a particular focus on midstream and downstream oil and gas, power generation and distribution (including traditional gas generation, biogas, biomass, energy from waste) and energy transitions (such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage/carbon capture, utilisation and storage, ammonia, etc).
Our Transactions and Business Advisory team is predominantly based out of London and Manchester, so we do look for flexibility and a willingness to travel to these key hubs on a regular basis, to aid collaboration with colleagues and clients.
How you will contribute
Building on your existing engineering experience and industry knowledge, you’ll determine findings, draw conclusions and develop recommendations for our clients, communicating these through strategic client reports and presentations. In addition, you will develop and maintain client relationships to support ongoing sales/bid development, and market research activities.
Creative, analytical and solution-orientated, you will manage or contribute to the delivery of technical due diligence projects for our clients, supported by a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with colleagues across DNV’s services. You will leverage our broader technical expertise and global footprint.
As well as possessing a strong academic background, you will have knowledge of areas including asset integrity, operational performance, health and safety, environmental, decarbonisation, financial models analysis, and capital expenditures/operating expenditures.
By joining our team, you will develop your client relationship and project management skills whilst further enhancing your existing technical capabilities. Our consultants evolve and grow in a variety of different ways, however, typically they will specialise in a few technical areas/industries. They often progress into project management, overseeing our key strategic projects.
