The Approval Centre Europe is organized Maritime Ship Classification. The total number of employees is around 450 and we are located in Hamburg, Høvik and Gdynia.
We are looking for engineers to join the Digital Ship Systems team in DNV Maritime’s Ship Classification.
The Digital Ship System section is responsible for key topics driving the Digital transformation in the maritime industry. Our team is at the centre of this transformation and is responsible for securing and safeguarding vessels from digital threats with cyber security, enabling efficient ship-to-shore data infrastructure and the future of fully and partly autonomous vessels. The maritime industry is now experiencing a digital transformation that will upend how vessels, systems and maritime infrastructure will look like. Our team is at the centre of this transformation and is responsible for securing and safeguarding vessels from digital threats with cyber security, enabling efficient ship-to-shore data infrastructure and the future of fully and partly autonomous vessels as main responsibilities.
We do approval of documents for ship and offshore newbuilding and conversion projects, type approval of systems and components according to DNV rules, support fleet in service as second line support in addition to rules and service development. The section drives the development of new class rules and services within these areas. Moreover, as Cyber security becomes a mandatory requirement of the maritime industry soon, our role and importance will continue to grow.
The engineers will report to Head of Section Digital Ship Systems.
Responsibilities
By joining our team, you are expected to contribute to development of cyber security in the maritime and offshore industry in-line with our processes, products and services within the area such as;
Developing rules and standards for cyber security of vessels and related systems, approval of new buildings, certification of systems and components, survey on ships and on manufacturer’s premises.
The candidate must expect some traveling.
