The position is part of the IT systems team.

We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer, a skilled and proactive person who will join our team as an IT System technician.

The position will be based in our DNV office in Austin, TX.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare Scada servers based on Windows Servers and VMWare ESXi virtualization
  • Install and configure network equipment for redundant networks
  • Define and execute preventive maintenance tasks based on Windows Server
  • Troubleshoot and maintain IIOT devices based on embedded Linux
  • Provide a daily monitoring check of servers’ hardware and service health
  • Automate frequent tasks using Powershell scripting
  • Give Level 2 support to internal staff or customers when appropriate

Position Qualifications

What is required

  • High School Diploma required; Technical or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry
  • Demonstrate experience in different Windows Server versions using FSMO roles
  • Experience in Terminal Server administration
  • Experience in different network topologies involving redundancy protocols in layers 2 and 3
  • Experience in SQL server and SQL cluster administration
  • Experience in VMWare virtualization
  • Knowledge of Linux administration
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • Demonstrate ability to work on projects and achieve results on time
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work in a pressurized project environment to deliver high-quality work
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking on challenges and responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drugs and background screening

What is preferred

  • Experience installing and troubleshooting VPN based on ipsec and GRE tunnels
  • Microsoft exams or certificates based on hybrid infrastructure
  • LPIC certification
  • Demonstrate experience in HA environments, especially Windows Cluster
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry (photovoltaic, wind, or storage technologies)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Spanish
