The primary function of the Training and Education Manager is to perform, in an efficient and competent manner, the associated activities for both public and private training of DNV Business Assurance.  The Training and Education Manager shall foster a style of working and attitude consistent with the managing principles of DNV.

 

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the organization’s external educational programs.
  • Provides leadership, training and development to the Training Unit staff and instructors.
  • Analyze and report external education results and trends to senior management.
  • Coordinate with Sales in consideration of educational opportunities or tailored programs with customers.
  • Ensure adequate support is provided to the Sales team relevant to commercial training sales.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director in scheduling the annual public training calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director in establishing training pricing guides.
  • Recruit competent trainers.
  • Provide weekly status reports on external training sales and revenue.
  • Supervises and coordinates internal annual training for Training Unit and Sales staff.
  • Coordinates with Certification on content for external course development and presentations.
  • Support virtual training deliveries and infrastructure.
  • Review and coordination of external presentations to ensure consistence and accuracy.
  • Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides career coaching, growth, and personal development for direct/indirect report employees.
  • Oversee Learning Management System local processing.
  • Coordinate and develop educational strategic goals and objectives.
  • Work with leadership to develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the Training Unit.
  • Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives for the Training Unit.
  • Develop new training products and maintain existing training materials, as assigned.
  • Follow-up on materials logistics for assigned courses.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Prepare and submit expense reimbursements for travel.
  • Provide direct support to local and global training managers and training units.
  • Routinely communicate with Key Client Managers to learn of market demands.
  • Support advertising projects (catalog, website).
  • Other duties assigned by appropriate management.

Position Qualifications

What is Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Organizational Development, or similar Degree Program. 
  • 3+ years in a role as an Educator or Training Manager for an organized program/course OR experience in curriculum/course design and development
  • Must be able to safely and repeatedly lift and maneuver a 50-pound load above head level in close proximity to other people, such as handling baggage on an airplane or handling boxed training materialsMust be able to stand, present and post visual, wall-mounted materials at a height that is visible to a seated audience
  • Willingess and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time.
  • Good speaking and writing ability for customer/staff presentations, industry forums, quotations, and reports.
  • Ability to plan and organize giving attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Reliable judgment that is consistent, adaptable to unusual situations, realistic, common-sense approach to job and problems
  • Motivation, initiative, commitment to self-improvement.
  • Willingness to consider other’s ideas and to work with others.

What is Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Education, Organizational Developement, or similar Degree Program.
