Local Unit & Position Description

The Global Shared Services (GSS) organization within DNV provides high quality, cost effective services within Human Resources, Finance, IT and Real Estate Management & Procurement. The delivery requirements are based on Global Service Level Agreements between the Business Areas, Group Centre and GSS.

We are looking for a consultative, service-minded HR Generalists to join our team in Kobe Japan.


Major duties:

  • Handle Payroll related activities for local and expats
  • Manage the pension and social security
  • Answer HR related questions raised by internal & external customers in a timely and appropriate way
  • Provide support on international assignments
  • Initiate own idea to improve the existing policy/procedures/manual
  • Employee benefits administration per local operating procedures
  • Support the reporting of overtime and absence
  • Support internal/external HR-related audits/inspections
  • Provide support the HR Team Leader on other HR-related activities when required

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, HR curriculum preferred.
  • 5+ years’ HR experience especially experience of handling payroll and social and security (progressive HR responsibility preferred)
  • Demonstration of experience within a variety of HR functions and processes.
  • Working experience in an international company with a global shared service concept – preferred
  • General understanding of local tax, labour laws & regulations.
  • Knowledge of Global mobility and Oracle/HR module – preferred.
  • Good planning and operation skills to ensure work efficiency and quality.
  • Strong command of English language required, both written and verbal.
  • Business level Japanese language is mandatory (Needs to be able to read/write/speak Japanese including Kanji/Katakana.
