We are looking for a Surveyor in Algeciras to join FiS Iberia & Italy Malta, part of the Maritime Region West Europe. Our Fleet in Service unit presently has 40 FIS Surveyors whose main activity is FIS, including occasional and periodical Surveys/Audits. The Team in Algeciras consists of 10 surveyors and we are looking for one new surveyor to join the actual manpower .
The work is taking place both in ships afloat and alongside and attending at Yard/Dry-dock facilities within Algeciras , Gibraltar and Cádiz bay with sporadic surveys at Seville / Huelva . A large variety of vessel types are regularly attended, with a special focus on Container Ships, Ferries, Unitized Dry Cargo vessels, Gas tankers, Oil Carriers, Chemical Carriers, Offshore Service vessels, Crane vessels, Passenger Vessels, and HSLC.
Main tasks:
The position we offer is within an enthusiastic and professional team of surveyors reporting to the Team leader FiS (Iberia & Italy/Malta)South & West Iberia FiS (M-WF-IP).
Successful candidates will be mainly expected to carry out Ships in Operation surveys and audits for assets located within their geographical area of responsibility. Also, occasional approval of service suppliers, basic technical service management and maintenance of good relationships with local customers will be required. Candidates should have the necessary technical background and experience to be able to commence work after the orientation and training period. - Encourage, plan, coordinate, support, and follow-up the quality improvement work
- Ensure that the required competence and capacity is available to conduct the District operations with the required quality, and that (where applicable) mandatory competence schemes are adhered to
- Ensure verification of the quality of work performed according to relevant standards
Finance:
- Plan, co-ordinate, support, follow-up and improve the financial performance of the District to ensure long-term sustainable operations, including Account Receivables
- Ensure and monitor accurate budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting
- Ensure and monitor compliance with legal requirements as defined by DNV and local legislations.
- Be a strong sparring partner for the Area Manager & Area BD Manager and must understand and lead the strategic ambitions of DNV Maritime.

The‘consultant hydrogen value chain and technologies’ will be part of a team of specialists focused on decarbonized gas in the energy transition. The team delivers a broad suite of services that offer ways to streamline and de-risk the development and implementation of new technologies and processes to support the complete hydrogen value chain – from production of both green and blue hydrogen, transportation, and storage, to its uses in various applications.
The team is part of a global DNV network of specialists in the hydrogen value chain and broader decarbonisation strategies for industry, transport and homes. The tasks include:
- Develop and deliver technical solutions and services to customer challenges regarding the hydrogen value chain. This will include:
- Techno-economic feasibility studies
- Technical Due Diligence studies
- Technology and design qualification (e.g. system integration with renewables or asset conversion and compatibility with hydrogen)
- Lead and support the production of technical reports for customers, where possible identifying further business opportunities for DNV.
- Playing a (lead) role in targeted business development efforts through proposal development and fostering positive relationships with existing and new clients.
- Managing portfolio of clients in terms of projects, reports, presentations and deliverables.
- Actively contribute to service delivery as specialist and / or project manager.
- Manage and work on multiple projects to the satisfaction of the Manager/Project Sponsor (i.e. within the required timeframe, cost and quality standards).

This position will be based in Groningen and / or in Arnhem (the Netherlands).
Our Safety and Risk Management Advisory Team in Benelux is assisting clients in hazard identification and risk assessment studies, from qualitative studies (HAZOP, HAZID, ...) to consequence modelling and full detailed quantitative risk assessments. Setting up and improving the safety management system of our clients is part of the work as well as analyzing incidents towards the root causes in the management system. We support our industrial customers to create safer and greener facilities.
