The role will be based at DNV's Yokohama office. We are looking for a dynamic individual with extensive experience in supporting customers using the Synergi Life solution, fluency in business-level Japanese and English, and exceptional problem-solving skills. We do not require a minimum educational qualification. The ability to perform pre-sales activities for Synergi Life is essential, and you should possess excellent self-management skills.   The consultant will be responsible for providing presales and business development activities, software implementation and technical services to our clients in the region, and project management when needed.  This involves supporting in project setup, requirements gathering and analysis, documenting the implementation, communicating the implementation progress to all stakeholders, and working closely with clients and sales managers.   The consultant will need to interface with a wide range of disciplines within DNV and will be responsible for working on a range of critical projects, working with clients in Japan.   The role would include the following duties:   - Provide excellent support to customers in Japan using the Synergi Life solution, assisting them in maximizing the utility of Synergi Life. - Understand customer requirements in the Japanese market and customize the Synergi Life solution to meet their specific business needs. - Troubleshoot issues with Synergi Life for Japanese customers and provide technical support, as well as educate users. - Engage in pre-sales activities for Synergi Life within the Japanese market as part of projects. - Actively participate in marketing activities to promote Synergi Life and contribute to its growth. - Demonstrate exceptional self-management skills. Join our team for an exciting summer research opportunity in 2024!   Projects Overview: The maritime industry faces a pressing challenge in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. We are committed to exploring innovative solutions to drive this transition. As a summer student, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the two dynamic projects within our Zero Carbon Fuels research team.   Project 1: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Maritime Fuels Project 2: Novel Biofuels for Maritime industry   The successful candidates will be part of the Maritime Program in DNV’s strategic research unit, Group Research and Development (GRD) where you will join an international pool of talented researchers covering a wide range of selected topics of strategic importance to DNV. GRD's mission involves strategic and applied research, emphasizing knowledge advancement and technology validation through partnerships with academia and industry. It also entails providing industry leadership through external publications and forecasts while establishing scientific credibility for DNV's services.   Your activities and responsibilities may include: - Conduct literature review and data analytics on marine fuels, incl. biofuels. - Explore physical and chemical processes used to produce marine fuels. - Use marine fuel standards. - Explore the potential for emission reduction of novel alternative fuels. - Develop LCAs for selected fuel value chains in the maritime sector. - Create interactive visualizations to communicate complex LCA results effectively. - Review existing methods for incorporating biodiversity indicators into LCAs.   Application process: Please upload your application letter, CV and grade certificate in our application tracking system (iCIMS).
