In the Energy Storage Northern Europe team, DNV offers independent advisory and testing services to all stakeholders in the industry. For energy storage, the focus is on grid-scale applications, where our services span the entire life cycle of such installations: starting with feasibility and market studies, then due diligences and independent/owner’s engineering, as well as operational services like monitoring and power failure investigations. Furthermore, we offer trainings and workshops to our customers and cover their testing and risk assessment needs. Our customers include transmission and distribution system operators, investors, project developers, technology suppliers and authorities, within Germany but also in Europe and beyond.
As Senior Consultant Energy Storage, you will be doing diverse technical consultancy work in energy storage projects (primarily grid-scale batteries) for customers, for 60-70% of your time. In some projects, you will work in a team with colleagues with different levels of experience and/or backgrounds; in other projects, you will manage the project team. Furthermore, you will lead and support business development within the team and with other teams, interacting with customers and colleagues to win new projects, especially within Germany but often also in other countries in our region.
Can you assess whether a grid-scale energy storage system is well-designed, safe and meets its specifications? Are you able to determine the risks and mitigation measures for an energy storage project or for an energy storage company to be acquired, and communicate them understandably to the investor? Are you aware of the technical, financial and regulatory developments in the grid-scale energy storage market, now and in the coming years, and can you make our customers aware of what that means for them? Do you know how to model the technical and financial performance of grid-scale energy storage systems in given applications, to determine feasibility and optimal technology? Overview of your tasks and responsibilities
- Executing consultancy/engineering projects on grid-scale energy storage systems, such as (depending on customer needs and your background and preferences):
- Business case assessments (experience with techno-economic calculations is a pro)
- Technical due diligence
- Independent / owner’s engineering
- Safety reviews and risk assessments (incl. standards review and testing)
- Trainings for customers
- Managing medium-sized and large projects within the team and with other teams
- Independent business development activities
- Leading and supporting business development, independently generating and handling proposals from start to finish (in Germany as well as internationally)
- Extending our external network and finding project opportunities
- Building strong relationships with external customers
- Meeting new customers and presenting DNV’s services
- Preparing and giving presentations at customer meetings and events
- Tracking and responding to new industry/market developments
- Building an internal network to gain and share knowledge and opportunities

As HCM Application Consultant your role will be to manage, support, and enhance the DNV's HR applications and participate in GSS IT projects related to HR processes ensuring alignment and co-operation with the HR community and the DNV overall system landscape.

As a Principal Consultantyou will lead the Power Cable cluster of approx. 10 Cable experts. The Power Cable cluster has high ambitions to grow. The other large part of the role will be individual contributor, undertaking consulting work and act as project manager for projects in the cable consulting domain.
The primary role of an individual in a Principal Consultant position remains that of an individual contributor, undertaking consulting or advisory work at a higher level of competence and experience. Client contact, travel to site visits, meetings, conferences and other off-site events are a normal part of this role.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Plan and resource multiple projects involving your team members (including projects which you will be undertaking) to ensure work is conducted within timescales and to budget;
- Co-ordinate the resourcing of work with other Team Leads and Heads of Department as appropriate;
- Promote, monitor and ensure the teams work meets the required standards and follows best practice guidelines (as delegated by HoD);
- Create a team spirit and good working environment for the team;
- Responsible for managing performance, goal setting process;
- Encourage and ensure that lessons learnt, and latest developments are shared across the team;

- Support Head of Department on AOP development;
- Project execution: Active involvement in advisory projects / third party project in the Power Cable and Submarine Cable domain.
